Make a “Right Now” Resolution, Not a New Year’s Resolution

We’ve recently brought in the New Year and it’s quite common for people to make New Year’s resolutions in an effort to make a positive change for the next 365 days.  My question is, why wait until t500_F_85938069_BceTwV3wqDuNAYLrkUf6s5h01l9aCXcDhen to decide to make a change?  To be honest, I feel that if you procrastinated this long just to decide to make a change, chances are, you’re probably going to procrastinate even longer to put those changes in motion.

If there’s something you wish to improve on, a relationship you’d like to mend, or an apology you need to make, do it now!  Who’s to say that it won’t be too late if you wait until the start of a new year?  The essence of time doesn’t stop or slow down for anyone of us so by waiting, you’re risking the chances of your circumstances becoming much worse instead of confronting the issue as soon as it arises.

Personal comparison:  I had a “friend” and even though I had my reservations, I convinced myself to believe that our friendship was genuine.  Instead of speaking my mind and confronting her about the reservations I had, I suppressed the issue and continued to be a good friend to her while I was being stabbed in my back the entire time.  By refusing to listen to my instincts, the friendship I thought would last a lifetime blew up in my face!  Things could’ve turned out a lot differently if only I listened to my heart.

Don’t let this happen to you!  Traditions are meant to be broken so do not wait until 2017 to make that major life change you’ve been wanting to make since 1999.  If you’re reading this, I hope that you’ll feel inspired to begin working on a positive change today.  Life doesn’t always go as planned so don’t think that you have all the time in the world and that bad things can’t and won’t happen in your life.  Don’t be one of those people who say, “I wish I would’ve said this….” or “I wish I could’ve done that…” Don’t wait until it’s too late.  I hope you have a prosperous 2016 and if you haven’t made a resolution yet, here’s one for you: From this moment on, stop making excuses for making necessary modifications in your life.
Work on being a better you NOW!  When you become a better you, the things and people around you will start to fall into place!
