It’s that time again folks! FREESTYLE FRIDAY!!!! In the social media world today, there are quite a bit of controversial topics that are discussed, so we decided to go with the most talked about, and that is interracial dating. For the sake of this blog, when we say “interracial dating,” we are talking about black…

Getting back into the groove of things since having my son. This was an appropriate blog to repost to remind myself and other women not to neglect your personal health being a workaholic!
So it’s 11:07 pm and I’m up working on the manuscript for my next book, writing this blog, and networking all at the same time. I’ve gotten so use to working that I literally do it in my sleep! I wanted to stop by, tonight, to tell you that while it’s ok to be a hard worker, make sure that you aren’t neglecting your own health in an effort to attain success. Make sure you’re getting the appropriate amount of sleep each night and that you’re setting aside some “you time.”
Ladies, the worst possible thing we could do to ourselves is to deny ourselves enough beauty rest! It’s a must! How do you expect to maintain that youthful appearance and sunkissed glow on your skin if you’re working yourself to the bone each day without taking some time out to focus on you?
It’s funny because I’m typing this as…

Some days you wake up motivated and ready to go.
On some days things feel heavy and it is hard to get going and find that inner drive.
And there are often roadblocks, plateaus and valleys along the way towards what you want where you can fall into a slump. Or get lost in a rut.
And you feel like your motivation has flown away.
So today I’d like to simply share three of my favorite and in my experience most effective ways to find that motivation again.
1. Do the 10 minute recharge exercise.
Here’s how you do this motivation exercise.
Sit down in a quiet place. Close your eyes.
Ask yourself these two questions:
- How will my life look in 5 years if I just continue to stay on the same path as now?
- How will life likely become worse for me and maybe even for the people…

In honor of poetry month, I’d like to share a poem I wrote when I was in middle school. I was obsessed with Michael Jackson and intrigued by everything he went through during his series of court trials. This poem is called, “During The Trial”
No man in the world
Has gone through so many dramatized actions
Than those of the “King of Pop,”
better known as Michael Jackson.
During the duration of the trial,
frustrations arose. There was little elation
but much fixation
on the alteration of all of the allegations.
In a room filled with altercation and accusations,
there was no time for consolation.
Wishing he were on a trip of aviation,
Jackson sat still in exhalation.
With no time for negotiation,
he was on his way to damnation without any hesitation.
Gone now is the investigation
although he’ll never forget the irritation.
Now he sits home in isolation
more cautious than ever
about any affiliation with the human civilization.
Freestyle Friday is here Ladies!! I have set Friday’s aside to be an open ended discussion with you all, and kick things up a notch. It may turn controversial, and could possibly rattle some feathers, but what’s a good conversation without opinions? Ok, first things first, let’s turn our heads towards social media for a minute. I’m sure we have all been “Keeping up with the Kardashians” as much as people do not approve of this family, it’s hard to not focus your attention on them when everyday there is something new in the media about this family. Now I must admit, without the help of The Shaderoom and Baller Alert, I wouldn’t be able to keep up. Now to sum up what’s been going on (for those of you who do not know) I will lay out the blueprint for you. Kim Kardashian was best friends with a…

Let’s decide to journey together with a clear intentional statement for how we want to live our lives today and everyday thereafter! Come from the feeling place as you envision what you desire it to be, so you can begin to manifest this into your life. Then commit to it by bringing it forward from your mind and writing it out. Make it real and acknowledge what it is for you. Allow yourself to hold the space of all these desires in your heart, mind and soul.
While on my flight to San Jose, Costa Rica, for my G Adventures Volcano Trail Tour, I considered again my decision for traveling on this adventurous trip — continuing to embrace stepping outside my comfort zone, taking more risks, having more once-in-a-lifetime experiences, and reconnecting with myself. All that would empower me to create the same exact momentum in my life when I…

I want to talk, for a moment, about the importance of exhausting your resources when it comes to reaching your desired goals and progressing through life. When I started this organization, I knew absolutely nothing about business and what it was going to take in order to be successful. My background was in entertainment and the arts so it was an interesting transition for me when I decided to start this organization. I researched until I couldn’t research anymore, I reached out to people who could help me, and I wasn’t afraid of the challenge. Has this been an easy road? Absolutely not! But when you’re passionate about something, you don’t give up.
One thing you should understand is that you cannot expect success to fall into your lap without putting in the work. It’s so easy to do what’s convenient, but taking the easy way out will not benefit you long term. You have to be willing to take risks AND you have to be willing to bump your head along your journey to success. Every successful person has had to fail many times before getting to where they are now. Do not get discouraged if you’ve been working at something for a long period of time and you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. Trust me, from experience, the light is there, but you have to be ready to navigate through all the twists and turns and the ups and downs in order to find your way to the light.
If you have a business idea, or a talent for something unique, exhaust your resources! You have to put yourself out there! It’s so important not to be afraid to be vulnerable. Not everyone will like or support what you’re doing, but the good news is, your success isn’t based off of whether they like you or not! As long as you believe in yourself, there’s not one person who can stop you except you! So don’t hold yourself back. Trust in your abilities enough to take the plunge. It’s going to be intimidating and you may even feel like giving up but I encourage you to keep going. You’ll get there!
